WESTERVILLE, Ohio—The Point teamed up with the PAST Foundation the week of June 19 to host Otterbein’s STEAM Powered, Super Sleuths Summer Camp.

Rising 3rd and 4th graders tried out their own investigative skills in a series of hands-on, inquiry-based lessons and experiments, all of which correlated with the Ohio Department of Education’s Fourth and Fifth Grade Subject Area Standards.

Using their super sleuth abilities campers worked to solve two crimes, just as forensic scientists and criminal investigators would.

Activities included making homemade s’more “ovens” and crafting their very own investigative posters.

Reviews from the campers were raving.

“I loved it! It rocked! I want to be a forensic scientist or criminal investigator when I am older,” said one camper.

Parents seemed to enjoy the challenging and fun week that the camp provided too.

“This camp challenged my daughter to think outside the box.  She had to apply her background knowledge and sharpen her communication skills to solve the mystery of Bob Agriculture.”
